Wildlife Habitat Management Wildlife Habitat Management is the portion of the plan that focuses on preserving and enhancing natural habitats for native species of animals. Working in conjunction with Napa County and Audubon International we have identified multiple species and their respective habitats, as well as actions to be taken in order to preserve or enhance those habitats. Of the 360 total acres, 180 acres are maintained turf, and 120 are vineyards, a favorite hunting ground for the many raptors on the property, leaving 60 acres set aside for other wildlife habitat. We also have Fagan Creek cutting a 20 ft. deep habitat sanctuary the entire distance of the golf course. Nest boxes for bird and bats have been constructed and installed to Audubon International specifications by a local youth group. We have also installed raptor perches in many areas of the golf course. |
